Kerala Backwaters: Travelling by boat along the Kerala backwaters is an experience not to be missed. The backwaters is an amazing network of lakes, canals, lagoons and rivers and coconut trees on the banks. You can view chinese fishing .nets and small village settlements along the narrow strips of land along the route.
Cochin: A inter-connection of islands. Diverse places to view such as The Jewish Synagogue, Mattancherry Palace, Fort Cochin. An excellent place to view Kathakali dancing (a unique motion of body and the facial features).
Periyar wildlife Park: Built around an artificial lake and very close to the spice hills this wildlife park has a spectacular setting. It is an excellent retreat to view wildlife and enjoy the setting. Various animals can be found such as bison, monkey, sambar, antelopes. The most exciting viewing is that of elephants walking along the banks of the waters.
Madurai: Dravidian temple architechture at its best. A temple town with all the activities concentrated around the temple. Other sights worth visiting are Tirumalai Nayakar Palace.
Kanniyakumari: Interesting temples such as Kumari Aman temple, Vivekananda rock memorial; Suchindram temple a short distance away. Despite the existence of temples, Kanniyakumari is known primarily for its view of the sunrise and the sunset across the 3 major seas.
Kovalam Beach: Kovalam beach is an excellent beach resting point in the southern tip of Kerala with the nearest town being Trivandrum.


Detailed itinerary is given below:


Day Skeleton Itinerary
01 START KERALA BACKWATERS PROGRAMME . COCHIN. Arrival transfer from Cochin airport or railway station to hotel for 2 night's stay.
02 COCHIN. Car & driver available for full day sightseeing in Cochin.
03 COCHIN - ALLEPEY - PERIYAR. Drive from Cochin to Allepey in the morning. Board motor boat for backwaters boat cruise in & around Allepey. Then drive on to Periyar for 2 night's stay at hotel.
04 PERIYAR. Day in Periyar Wildlife Reserve & visits to the local spice plantations. (Note: Park rides and entry fees are not included).
05 PERIYAR - MADURAI. Car & driver available for local transfers and early morning views in Periyar before driving onto Madurai for overnight stay. Car & driver available for local transfers within Madurai for seeing the Meenakshi temple.
06 MADURAI - KANNIYAKUMARI. Morning sightseeing of Madurai including Tirumalai Nayyakar Palace & Meenakshi temple. Afternoon departure for Kanniyakumari to view sunset. Overnight stay at hotel.
07 KANNIYAKUMARI - TRIVANDRUM - KOVALAM. View early morning sunrise. Check out of hotel. Drive to Trivandrum visiting Padmanabhapuram Palace en-route. Visit the museum in Trivandrum before driving on to Kovalam for 7 night's stay.
14 TRIVANDRUM/ KOVALAM. Check out of hotel. Trip concludes.
